A woodburner is designed exclusively for burning wood, while a multifuel stove can burn a variety of fuels, including wood, coal, and smokeless fuels. Multifuel stoves have a grate and ash pan to manage different fuel types, making them more versatile.

No! While chimneys are ideal for stove installations, a twin wall flue system can be installed as an alternative. They can be fitted pretty much anywhere in your home and are idea for homes without a traditional chimney.

Yes, modern stoves are designed to meet strict environmental standards.  Modern Ecodesign stoves are highly efficient, offering clean combustion and reduced emissions, aligning with the latest regulations under the environmental improvement plan 2023.

Most stove installations take 1 day depending on the complexity of the project. This includes setting up the stove, connecting the flue, and ensuring everything meets safety standards. Some installs may require some building work to take place such as making a fireplace bigger to suit the size of the stove, this could take up towards 3 days.

Generally, no. However, if you live in a listed building or a conservation area, you may need permission. It’s always best to check with your local planning authority.

HETAS is the official body for approving heating appliances, fuels, and installers. A HETAS-certified installation ensures that your stove is installed safely and complies with all building regulations.

Seasoned hardwood, such as oak, ash, or beech, is ideal because it burns longer and produces more heat. Always ensure the wood has been seasoned for at least a year and has a moisture content below 20%. Avoid burning treated or painted wood, as it can release harmful chemicals.

The stove itself should be cleaned regularly to prevent soot and ash buildup. The flue or chimney should be professionally swept at least once a year, or more often if you use your stove frequently.

While it’s possible with some stoves, it’s not recommended unless the manufacturer explicitly states that the stove is designed for overnight burning. Always follow the user manual for safe operation.

Regular maintenance includes cleaning the glass, checking seals, and removing ash. Annual servicing by a professional is also essential to ensure everything is in top working order.
